Mahendergarh:PanditDeendayalUpadhyaya Central Library, Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh celebrated National Librarians' Day on the occasion of 132nd birth anniversary of Dr. S.R.Ranganathanon Monday. On this occasionProf.Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice Chancellor of the University launched 'One Library One Software', launchedRemote Access Portal and CUH e-Library mobile application. The Vice Chancellor also inaugurated the well-furnished reading room of School of Engineering and Technology Library.
Prof.Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice Chancellor of the University offered floral tribute to Dr. S.R.Ranganathan. The Vice Chancellor felicitated Dr. Vinod Kumar Singh, Assistant Librarian of the University on his appointment as Assistant Librarian at Delhi University. Prof.Sanjiv Kumar, Dean Academic and Dr. Santosh C H, Librarian distributed certificates to the prize winners and toppers of the various library events and courses organised by the CUH Library.
Prof.Tankeshwar Kumar said that we need to followDr.Ranaganathan’s principles to make the libraries true learning centres. He further said that the library holds an important place in any academic institute and the students and faculty can best utilise the resources for academic and research activities. With the remote access facility, the students and faculty of CUH can now access the Library resources from anywhere in the world”. He appreciated the Library staff and also emphasised on the importance of reading and taking best use of the library resources. During the programme, the Vice Chancellor also felicitated the Library staff for their active participation in the training programmes organised by the Library.
Dr. Rajeev Vasishtha, Deputy Librarian proposed vote of thanks. The faculty, students and researchers of different departments participated in the programme and was well coordinated by Information Scientist Dr. Vinita Malik and Assistant Librarian Mr. Naresh Kumar.
