Mumbai: The Mumbai School of Economics and Public Policy (MSEPP), University of Mumbai, has announced 11th April, 2026, as the last date for receipt of online applications for its Ph.D. programme in Economics for the academic year 2025-26 (Winter).
To apply online, eligible candidates are required to upload their documents to a Google Form issued by MSEPP.
Candidates are to submit marksheets and certificates for graduate and postgraduate degrees.
With regards to the fields of Economics, Public Policy, Developmental Studies, and Statistics, candidates are to submit certificates of specialised entrance examinations, namely, the Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET), the National Eligibility Test (NET), the State Eligibility Test (SET), or the Grade Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). They may also upload certificates of Junior Research Fellowship, along with M. Phil Degree Certificates for the same disciplines.
The application additionally requires candidates to submit a proposal of around two pages detailing their research interest.
The reservation policy of the university will be applied as per University of Mumbai Circular No. Enrol./Elg./Admission/Q024-25/333/of 2024, dated 28th May, 2024, and the University of Mumbai Regulations for Ph.D. As such, persons with disabilities and persons belonging to protected constitutional classes are to submit the required medical certificates, as well as the relevant caste validity documents, the Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) certificate, or any other testimonials issued by the government authority under this category.
The hard copies for all mentioned documents are to reach the MSEPP office by 13th April, 2026, between 10:30 A.M and 5:00 P.M. The address for delivery is 3rd floor, Ranade Bhavan, University of Mumbai, Kalina Campus, Mumbai – 400098.
The dates for interviews for the shortlisting round will be announced on the official MSEPP website at the end of the application process.
