New Delhi: The current batch of NEP students, who are in their third year, will be the last to have the choice of continuing into fourth year.
The state government will publish an official order terminating the option for students to pursue a four-year honours degree curriculum in Karnataka, which was adopted under the National Education Policy.
The higher education department, which is awaiting the conclusion of the second phase of voting in Karnataka on May 7, will publish an order excluding honours courses on May 8. With this, the current batch of NEP students, who are in their third year, will be the last to have the choice of continuing into fourth year.
As the students are in their final-year, the universities must clarify whether they will be given a degree certificate or allowed to continue for fourth year, considering that it has been decided to issue an official order as soon as the second phase of elections in the state is over.
