Karnataka Government Increases Financial Support for SC and ST Students.

karnataka, : In a landmark decision, the Karnataka government has announced a significant increase in incentive funds for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students enrolled in esteemed institutions such as IITs, IIMs, IISc, and NITs. The fund has been raised from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2 lakh, aiming to enhance educational opportunities and achievements among these communities.

The initiative is part of the state's broader commitment to uplift underprivileged students through education. The increased financial support is expected to alleviate some of the economic burdens faced by students pursuing higher education in these prestigious institutions.

Additionally, in a bid to encourage academic excellence, SC students who achieve scores above 95% in their Pre-University Course (PUC) exams and secure management quota seats in MBBS programs will now be eligible for an impressive incentive of Rs 25 lakh. This move is designed to motivate students to excel in their studies and pursue careers in medicine.

Overall, the Karnataka government's decision reflects a strong commitment to empowering SC and ST students, ensuring they have the necessary support to succeed in their educational endeavors.
