JNUTA Warns JNU Administration Against Infringing Faculty Rights

JNUTA Opposes Suggestion to Schedule Extra Classes On Saturdays

New Delhi, July 17, 2024: The Jawaharlal Nehru University Teachers' Association (JNUTA) has strongly opposed the suggestion to schedule extra classes on Saturdays and shorten winter vacations to make up for the lost time due to the delayed announcement of CUET undergraduate entrance examination results.

JNUTA has accused the JNU administration of infringing on the rights of faculty members, violating UGC regulations, and ignoring the demands for compensatory Earned Leave and reimbursement for expenses incurred during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The association has demanded that the administration return the deducted transport allowance, credit compensatory Earned Leave, and conduct its own entrance examinations instead of relying on the National Testing Agency (NTA).

JNUTA has warned the administration that it will not allow the burden of NTA's inefficiencies to fall upon faculty members, and demands a fair and just solution to the ongoing issues.
