New Delhi, : Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), a NAAC grade A++ accredited Central University, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with DeBox Global IT Solutions Pvt Ltd to provide hands-on training to students from the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management (DTHM) on DeBox’s advanced travel technology products. This initiative will certify students, enhance their practical knowledge, and create placement opportunities with DeBox Global’s clients.
The collaboration aligns with National Educational Policy (NEP) 2020 and Government's Skill India initiative , focusing on bridging the gap between academia and industry through skill-based training and experiential learning. The MoU, signed by the Registrar JMI Prof. Md Mahtab Alam Rizvi, aims to boost employability and industry readiness among students.
Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies, Prof. Amirul Hasan Ansari, who handed over the MoU to Mr. Syed A. Asim, Director of DeBox Global, emphasized that the partnership will strengthen students’ technical expertise and real-world knowledge.
Prof. Nimit Chowdhary, Head of DTHM, remarked that integrating advanced travel technology into the curriculum will ensure that students are industry-ready. Prof. Rihan Khan Suri, Director, Centre of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, highlighted that this initiative reflects the university’s commitment to innovation and skill development.
Mr. Asim, expressing pride in collaborating with JMI, hoped that this partnership would prepare students for successful careers in the competitive sector of travel and hospitality.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Vijay Kumar and other faculty members of the department.
