JMI and MCD jointly organizes Awareness Lecture on Vector Borne Diseases

:- The purpose of the lecture was to create awareness about the causes of the deadly vector borne diseases like Malaria, Chikungunya & Dengue and precautionary measures to be taken to protect from them

 

New Delhi: Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) organized an awareness lecture on Vector Borne Diseases in collaboration with Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on June 29, 2022 in the FTK CIT Conference Hall of the university. The purpose of the lecture was to create awareness about the causes of the deadly vector borne diseases like Malaria, Chikungunya & Dengue and precautionary measures to be taken to protect from them in view of the perpetual breeding of mosquitoes. The lecture was attended by officials of the university, representative of local MCD Councilor and members of various RWAs.

The event was organized by the Sanitation Unit of the university under the guidance and instruction of the Registrar JMI Prof. Nazim Husain Jafri. 

The program was chaired by Prof. Tokeer Ahmad, Nodal Officer, JMI.  Dr. Ayub Khan, Sanitary Inspector welcomed the esteemed panel by giving them a sapling and bouquet.

Dr. L.R. Verma, Deputy Health Officer Epidemiologist, Dr. Kanika Singh from MCD addressed the audience and demonstrated the various measures to curb the spread of vector borne diseases during the monsoon season.

The program ended with a firm commitment to take concrete measures to keep the campus disease free.
