New Delhi.: The Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) is looking to hire a research associate. The position is temporary and the associate will be working under Prof. G.U. Kulkarni of the Chemistry and Physics Materials Unit (CPM Unit) in Jakkur, Bangalore. The applicant will work as a research associate for six months, which can be extended for an additional two years based on the candidate’s performance and the availability of funds. Work progress evaluations are conducted every six months. The applicant must be 35 years or younger and will be paid Rs. Rs. 47,000, Rs. 49,000 or Rs.54,000, along with house rent allowance (HRA). The remuneration will be fixed based on experience.
To qualify, candidates need to have earned a PhD in psychics, chemistry, material science, nanoscience and tech or a relevant subject. If they don’t have a PhD, they need to have an equivalent degree or have three years of research and development experience after earning their Master’s in Engineering or Master’s in Tech degree (psychics, chemistry, material science, nanoscience and tech or a relevant subject), with one research paper in the Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journals. The applicant is also required to be able to program in the Julia, python or fortran programming languages. Applicants who have experience in the areas of networks/graph theory and small world problems and can perform circuit analysis and linear algebra implementation are also desired.
The position will be beneficial to the applicant as it allows them to contribute to the development of nanomachine based devices, gain experience working in a collaborative environment and allows them to work in a collaborative set-up of the Industry and Research institute environment.
