Indian Students Shine at International Olympiad in Informatics 2025: Scaler Scholarships Announced for Top Performers

India’s young programmers achieve global recognition at IOI 2025, as Scaler School of Technology extends full scholarships to nurture future leaders in computer science and AI.

New Delhi.: Indian students have once again showcased their brilliance on the global stage, securing top honours at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) 2025, the world’s most prestigious school-level programming competition. The event, which witnessed participation from over 90 countries, underscored India’s growing strength in competitive programming and STEM education.

Among the distinguished medalists were Samik Goyal (Silver), Archit Manas (Bronze), and Naveen Kulkarni (Bronze) — young innovators whose achievements highlight India’s emerging dominance in algorithmic problem-solving and computational thinking.

The IOI and its national counterpart, the Indian National Olympiad in Informatics (INOI), are not just coding contests but platforms that nurture algorithmic reasoning, mathematical application, and computational efficiency. India’s consistent success in these Olympiads reflects the nation’s growing investment in STEM education, technology training, and mentorship-driven initiatives.

In recognition of their outstanding performance, the Scaler School of Technology (SST) has announced full scholarships for IOI medalists and select INOI qualifiers. These scholarships cover complete tuition and hostel fees for IOI medallists and training camp participants, and full tuition fee waivers for INOI qualifiers joining the Undergraduate Programme in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at SST Bengaluru.

This initiative builds upon Scaler’s long-term vision to empower Olympiad-level talent and strengthen India’s capacity in science, technology, and research. The scholarship aims to provide world-class training in algorithms, data structures, and applied computing, along with mentorship and career development opportunities.

Pathway to the IOI:

  1. Participate in ICO/INOI: Students register and compete in the Indian Computing Olympiad (ICO) or Indian National Olympiad in Informatics (INOI) — the national qualifiers for IOI.

  2. Selection Process: Top performers from these rounds are shortlisted for advanced training camps.

  3. Training Camps: Selected students undergo rigorous preparation in coding, problem-solving, and algorithms.

  4. Final Selection: Based on their performance, four students are chosen to represent India at the International Olympiad in Informatics.

India’s consistent performance at IOI, supported by initiatives like Scaler’s scholarships, signifies a growing ecosystem of young coders and innovators ready to shape the country’s future in technology. The achievements of 2025 not only celebrate individual excellence but also mark a step forward in India’s journey toward becoming a global powerhouse in computational sciences and artificial intelligence.
