A delegation of 20 school heads and representatives from India, supported by the Ministry of Education, Taiwan, and the Taipei Economic & Cultural Centre New Delhi, recently concluded a five-day high-powered delegation to Taiwan. The visit aimed to foster collaboration and gain invaluable insights into Taiwan’s innovative educational pedagogy, enhancing global learning experiences. This visit was a result of the Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) signed between Indian and Taiwanese schools last year, which have strengthened educational ties between the two nations.
The delegation, led by Jyoti Arora, Principal at Mount Abu Public School, consisted of school heads from ASN Sr Sec School, Bal Bharati Public School Rohini, Bal Bhavan Public School, Bharti Public School, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Mehta Vidyalaya, Brilliants Convent Sr Sec School, DAV Public School Pushpanjali Enclave, Greenfield School, Lovely Public Sr Sec School, Modern Public School, National Victor Public School, Nav Bharati Public School, Prudence School, Remal Public School, Spring Days School, Sumermal Jain Sr Sec School and Vidya Bharti School.
During their stay in Taiwan, the delegation had the privilege of experiencing the dynamic education system for which Taiwan is renowned. The delegation engaged in fruitful exchanges and visited partner schools, including Taipei Wenhua Elementary School, Taibei International Bilingual School, Taichung Municipal Wenhua Elementary School, and National Puli Industrial Vocational High School. They also had the opportunity to visit prominent cultural institutions such as the National Museum of Marine Science & Technology, National Palace Museum, and Kaohsiung Public Library.
The delegation observed classrooms, attended sessions, and engaged in discussions with teachers and students, gaining valuable insights into Taiwan’s student-centric approach, emphasis on critical thinking, and integration of technology in education. The Indian school representatives were enthralled by Taiwan’s dedication to nurturing holistic development, promoting creativity, and fostering a love for learning among students.
In addition to school visits, the delegation participated in deliberations with educationists, facilitating the exchange of best practices and insights from the Indian educational landscape. This cross-cultural exchange laid the foundation for long-lasting collaborations and mutual growth.
