Thiruvananthapuram, : Indian Institute of Science Education and ResearchThiruvananthapuram (IISER TVM) will be celebrating its 11th Convocation on 23rd July 2023 at its campus in Vithura, Thiruvananthapuram.Padma Bhushan Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, former Chairperson, ISRO & Chairperson, Standing Committee of the IIT Council, has consented to be the chief guest in the convocation.
IISER Thiruvananthapuram is one of the premier science education and research institutes established by the Government of India in 2008 to impart high-quality education integrated with outstanding research in modern science.
In this 11th Convocation,189 BS-MS, 36 PhD, 12 Integrated PhD,and 21 MS(Res) students will receive their degrees. This Convocation will also celebrate the first graduating batch of 73 students from the Master of Science programs launched in 2021.
Since its inception, the Institute has been making impressive progress in its academic journey. Prof. Arvind A. Natu is the current Chairman of the Board of Governors, and Prof. J. N. Moorthy is the Directorof the Institute. IISER TVM has constantly beenendeavouring to carve a niche for itself in the country for high-quality higher education with immersive research experience. The carefully curated pedagogy, comprehensively aligned with the tenets of NEP 2020,offers students a flexible curriculum with a strong interdisciplinary character and provides them with a challenging and expansive learning environment.Towards further diversification, the Institute has recently established the Schools of Data Science and Earth, Environment and Sustainability Sciences. These multidisciplinary schools foster collaboration across fields to promote excellence and innovation in addressing complex global challenges through comprehensive approaches.From humble beginnings, IISER TVM today has emerged as a vibrant knowledge hub and is well poised to rank up in the country in the coming years.
