LUCKNOW, : Indian Institute of Management Lucknow celebrated its 40th Foundation Day on 27th July 2024, in the presence of faculty, staff, students, and distinguished guests.

The day's events began with a tree plantation drive on campus, where the Director, Deans, faculty, staff, and community members united to reinforce the Institute’s commitment to maintaining a clean, green, and sustainable campus environment.

Reflecting on this significant milestone, Prof. Archana Shukla, Director-in-Charge, IIM Lucknow, remarked, “IIM Lucknow's vibrant community is a testament to our strong foundation. From a small group of 20-25 individuals, we have grown into an institution of excellence, thanks to everyone's dedication. With a commitment to sustainability and robust infrastructure, our institute is poised to reach new heights, continuing to be a torchbearer of innovation and research.”

Prof. Shukla added, “IIM Lucknow's startup incubator supports 111 incubatees and is recognized as a nodal center. Additionally, The Centre of Happiness focuses on the mental well-being of our community. This year, we introduced the Young Faculty Researcher Endowment and launched a Centre of Excellence for Blockchain Technology, set to foster over 100 startups in Uttar Pradesh.”

The celebrations culminated in a grand evening event, where employees who have completed 25 years of service were honoured. IIM Lucknow community also enjoyed a vibrant cultural extravaganza, fostering a sense of unity and celebration.

Speaking during his welcome address Prof. Vikas Srivastava. Dean (Programmes), IIM Lucknow, said, "Reaching 40 years is a significant milestone for any institution, and for IIM Lucknow, it represents a journey toward even greater achievements and a bright future. To celebrate this occasion, the IIML EWC organized a series of activities, and the collective efforts and participation of our community have made them a success. Each member of the IIM Lucknow community plays a crucial role in fostering a strong connection for the new generation. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated faculty and staff and warmly welcome the new members joining us on this journey."

As a lead-up to the 40th Foundation Day, the institute organized a month-long series of sports events, including Swimming, Powerlifting, Table Tennis, Chess, Carrom, and Badminton competitions from 12th to 15th July 2024. Additionally, a Cross-Country Run was held on 21st July 2024. These events showcased the sportsmanship and camaraderie of the institute’s community, contributing to the overall success of the celebrations. A prize distribution ceremony for the competition winners was conducted on 25th July 2024.

The celebration will conclude with a Foundation Day lecture by Mr. Nitin Seth, IIM Lucknow Alumnus, and Co-Founder and CEO of Incedo Inc., on 30th July 2024
