Prayagraj - The Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad (IIIT Allahabad) has issued a rolling advertisement inviting applications for admission to its Ph.D. programmes under the NEP-based framework.
From the official notice, applicants everywhere can submit for Ph.D. positions in two paths - one tied to fellowships at the institute, another open to working professionals. Before starting the online form, the institute stresses looking closely at the requirements outlined in attached documents. That step matters most when checking who meets the cut for consideration.
First comes a split−stage system. One part happens right here on the IIIT Allahabad grounds - a digital filtering round known as Stage I. This session runs as an online assessment. It uses a test format built around two separate segments. One part digs into shared spaces outside department walls. The other dives into topic matters tied to specific departments. That is how it breaks down at first glance. Later steps follow after this entry point clears or flags candidates. Still, those who cleared GATE or NET won’t need to sit the initial screening round.
Next up is a personal interview run by a team of expert panel members. Instead of going through a screening step, candidates from professional backgrounds skip that part entirely. These individuals move straight into the interview, provided they meet the basic requirements.
Fees vary by group - general, EWS, and OBC pay 500 rupees, while SC, ST, and PWD individuals give 250. Deadline options exist: submit by March 31, July 15, or November 30 in 2026.
