ICAI Reopens Application Window for CA Final and PQC Exams

The application window will be open from 11 AM on September 11 until 11:59 PM on September 12. Students applying during this period will be required to pay a late fee of ₹600 (US $10).

New Delhi: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced the reopening of the online application process for the Chartered Accountants Final and Post Qualification Course (PQC) exams, including the Insurance and Risk Management (IRM) Technical Examination and the International Taxation – Assessment Test (INTT-AT).

The application window will be open from 11 AM on September 11 until 11:59 PM on September 12. Students applying during this period will be required to pay a late fee of ₹600 (US $10). Applications can be submitted through the official ICAI website — icai.org.

ICAI has introduced a significant change this year, allowing the Chartered Accountants Intermediate and Foundation exams to be held three times annually instead of the previous twice-yearly schedule. As a result, the application window for the September 2024 CA Intermediate and Foundation exams was shortened from 28 days to 17 days to accommodate the new exam schedule and ensure timely completion of examination-related processes, such as finalizing exam centers, evaluating answer sheets, and declaring results.

This same 17-day application timeline also applied to the CA Final and PQC exams scheduled for November 2024. ICAI had initially announced the shortened timeline on July 18, 2024, providing prospective candidates ample time to submit their applications in advance.

In recognition of the shortened window being a new process, ICAI has decided to offer students a second opportunity to submit their applications. However, ICAI emphasized that the 17-day application period will be strictly enforced for all future Chartered Accountants examinations, and students are expected to adhere to these deadlines going forward.
