FICCI FLO Mumbai and Nimaya Join Forces to Empower Young Women

FICCI FLO and Nimaya launch the 21st Century Workplace Skills Program, empowering women with barriers and ensuring workforce success through soft skills training.

Mumbai: FICCI FLO Mumbai, in collaboration with Nimaya, a not-for-profit career accelerator for women and girls, has undertaken a significant initiative to upskill young women by imparting essential soft skills training, ensuring their readiness for the professional workforce. The joint program, led by Chairperson Archana Khosla Burman from FICCI FLO Mumbai, Founder Navya Naveli Nanda, and Director Samyak Chakrabarty from Nimaya, aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical workplace requirements, thereby enhancing the employability prospects for the participants.

The program was launched in an auspicious opening ceremony held at Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues College of Engineering in Mumbai, graced by the presence of the three esteemed leaders and the college's Principal. The event engaged the audience in insightful discussions and deliberations on various topics related to professional development, skill enhancement, and the significance of fostering human connections in the workplace.

Chairperson Archana Khosla Burman reaffirmed FICCI FLO's unwavering commitment to empowering women across different sections of society and at various stages of their professional journeys. She emphasised the criticality of starting at the grassroots level and bridging the gap between the education system and corporate work skills requirements. The program's hands-on training sessions are designed to accelerate employment opportunities and ensure sustained employment for young women entering the workforce. Burman expressed the belief that empowering girls with soft skills would lead to more inclusive workplaces with a diverse workforce. She emphasised that talent knows no bounds and that by providing the necessary training and opportunities, the potential of these aspiring young women can be unleashed.

Navya Naveli Nanda, Founder, and Samyak Chakrabarty, Director of Nimaya, also spoke about their mission to break down restrictive circumstances and barriers that hinder women's dreams. Through an intensive soft skills development training program, Nimaya aims to enhance the employability of young women, ultimately creating a multigenerational impact in the education and skill development landscape.

FICCI FLO is an all-India forum for women with its headquarters based in New Delhi. Presently, the organisation has established 19 chapters across India, representing more than 9000 women entrepreneurs and professionals. With over four decades of experience, FLO has been actively promoting entrepreneurship and professional excellence among women through a diverse range of workshops, seminars, conferences, talks, training, and capacity-building programs. These initiatives aim to foster the inclusion of women's talents, skills, experiences, and synergies across all sectors and levels of economic activity.
