New Delhi | 11 February 2026 : Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan today chaired a high-level roundtable with founders of 10 new-age Indian startups leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education, at Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. The interaction marked a significant step in the Ministry of Education’s ongoing efforts to harness AI for transforming India’s education ecosystem in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The event was attended by Shri Sukanta Majumdar, Minister of State for Education and Development of North Eastern Region, and Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State for Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (Independent Charge), along with senior policymakers, academic leaders, and industry stakeholders.
AI Startups Driving Inclusive Education
The roundtable brought together founders from 10 emerging Indian AI-first education startups—Arivihan, Fermi AI, Khare.AI, Seekho, SpeakX, SuperKalam, SuperNova, Vedantu, ConveGenius, and Virohan—who showcased innovative solutions across K–12 learning, test preparation, language learning, upskilling, and vocational education. A strong emphasis was placed on reaching learners in underserved and aspirational regions.
Discussions focused on responsible AI adoption, safeguards, scalability, and building India-centric solutions with global relevance. The interaction also served as a precursor to the upcoming India AI Impact Summit, where these insights will feed into broader policy and ecosystem deliberations.
Bharat Bodhan AI Conclave 2026
The roundtable will be followed by the Bharat Bodhan AI Conclave 2026, scheduled for 12–13 February 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The two-day conclave will bring together senior policymakers from the Centre and States, researchers, academic institutions, and industry leaders to deliberate on AI’s strategic role in transforming India’s education system, with a focus on innovation, scalable adoption, and national capacity building.
Minister’s Vision: AI for Viksit Bharat @ 2047
Addressing the gathering, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan expressed happiness at engaging with home-grown startup founders developing “AI-powered solutions from India to the world.” He noted with pride that many founders come from middle-class and tier-III city backgrounds, reflecting India’s deep and inclusive innovation talent pool.
The Minister underscored that technology—especially AI—is a powerful instrument of empowerment and inclusion, capable of bridging the gap between hope and opportunity. Highlighting AI’s central role in achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047, he encouraged innovators to build solutions rooted in Indian values, languages, and contexts, while ensuring global relevance. He assured continued government support in building impactful digital public infrastructure (DPI) in education and strengthening India’s technological and digital sovereignty.
Industry Perspective
Shri Ashutosh Sharma, a long-term investor in India’s digital ecosystem, emphasized that education technology should be viewed as a national capability rather than a short-term commercial opportunity. He noted that AI represents a historic inflection point, enabling quality education to reach every learner regardless of geography or income.
Senior officials present included Secretaries of School Education & Literacy and Higher Education, Directors of IIT Delhi and IIT Madras, heads of NSDC, NASSCOM, NCVET, CBSE, KVS, NIOS, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, and senior officers from the Ministries of Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.
