Jesus and Mary College to Host Intercollege Skit Competition

Jesus and Mary College, University of Delhi, will organise an inter college skit competition titled "The Scene- Quence' as part of Matharena 2026. The event invites undergraduate and postgraduate students from across disciplines to participate and win cash prizes worth ₹5,000. The registration deadline is February 10, 2026.

New Delhi - Department of Mathematics, Jesus and Mary College (JMC), University of Delhi, in collaboration with Troubadours , is organising an inter-college skit competition titled "The Scene- Quence" as part of Matharena 2026. 

The competition aims to creativity, blend mathematics with drama and storytelling offering students a platform to showcase both logical thinking and artistic expressions. The event is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students from all streams including arts, commerce, science, engineering management, law and medical field. 

Teams can consist of 2 to 7 members. Participants are required to arrange their own costume and probs. The total time allotted per team is 15 to 20 minutes, including stage entry and exit. Basic warm lighting will be provided by the college while team needing additional lightings must arrange it independently. Audio will be played through the auditorium sound system and teams must bring their own laptops with all audio files saved offline.

The competition will be conducted in two rounds. In Round 1, teams must submit a written synopsis of their skit by emailing it to mathsdeptjmc@gmail.com on or before February 10, 2026. This round will serve as the initial screening. In Round 2, shortlisted teams will perform live on February 13, 2026, at Matharena 2026.

Participants can choose from multiple creative themes such as Mathematical Time Travel, Mathematicians , The Formula for Happiness and Maths vs AI, allowing teams to explore mathematical concepts through innovative storytelling. Judging will be based on several criteria, including script and storytelling, acting and expressions, direction and stage craft, innovation and creativity, use of mathematics and overall impact.

Hard copies of college ID cards are mandatory for all participants.Teams will be responsible for maintaining decorum and will be held liable for any damage to college property or equipment. Personal vehicles are not permitted inside the college premises

The competition offers cash prizes worth ₹5,000, along with exciting hampers for winners. Interested teams must register through the official registration link or QR code provided on the event page. The registration deadline is February 10, 2026.
