New Delhi.: The Delhi government has launched a major initiative to provide free, high-quality coaching to 2,200 academically strong students studying in government schools. The programme—covering preparation for national entrance exams such as JEE, NEET, CLAT, CA Foundation and CUET—comes under the Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya Vidya Shakti Mission and was announced by Education Minister Ashish Sood.
The government said the initiative aims to strengthen students’ academic foundations, support their emotional well-being and transform Delhi’s public schools into future-ready institutions. The scheme, previously proposed in the annual budget, has been allocated ₹21 crore to ensure accessible, high-quality after-school training for deserving students.
Reserved Seats & Coaching Structure
To promote inclusion, the government has designated special seats for female candidates across all courses:
- JEE, NEET, CLAT, CA Foundation: 50 seats each for girls
- CUET-UG: 1,000 seats total, including 150 for girls
Coaching will be conducted by empanelled premier institutions such as Aakash Institute, Narayana Academy, KD Campus and Ravindra Institute.
Students will receive:
- Regular classroom sessions
- Live online classes
- Study materials
- Practice tests and mentoring
- After-school and weekend academic support
This ensures that preparation does not disrupt their regular school curriculum.
Mission to Empower & Support Students
According to an official statement, the Vidya Shakti Mission places equal focus on academic excellence and emotional strength. It aims to provide safe, supportive learning spaces while nurturing students’ dignity, mental wellness and confidence.
Calling the initiative a landmark step in public education, Minister Sood shared that 62,000 students appeared for CET-2025 on October 30, and after counselling, physical coaching for the first batch began on November 26, 2025.
“Education is not just about marks; it is about mental wellness, dignity and humanity,” Sood said.
Building Future-Ready Schools
Sood further emphasized the government’s ongoing work toward AI-enabled classrooms and a human-centred education model, aimed at providing equal opportunities for every child.
He added that the Vidya Shakti Mission represents a broader movement to “empower talent, protect mental wellness, and unlock Delhi's academic potential at the grassroots.”
