CUH students visited reputed institutes during study tour

A 3-day study tour of second year MSc students was organized by the Department of Microbiology, Central University of Haryana

 

New Delhi. : A 3-day study tour of second year MSc students was organized by the Department of Microbiology, Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh.Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar Vice-chancellor said the visit to such reputed institutes motivate the student’s for higher studies. Such tours also opens the window of future collaboration among institutes.

Students visited reputedinstitutes of Chandigarh, Solan and Shimla. Prof Surender Singh, HoD and Dr. UshaNagarajan, Asst Prof Biochemistry accompanied the students. Prof. Surender Singh said that the students visited CSIR - Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH), Chandigarh where national facilities like The Microbial Type Culture Collection and Gene Bank (MTCC) are housed.On day 2, the team visited ICAR-Directorate of Mushroom Research, Solan, Himachal Pradesh where the students learnt about entrepreneurship by mushroom cultivation.  Students also visited ICAR - Central Potato Research Institute (CPRI), Shimla, Himachal Pradesh where the main attraction was potato cultivation through hydroponics technique in which crops can be grown in small area without soil. The students also visited Regional Horticultural Research and Training Station (RHR & TS) and Indian Institute of Advanced Study Shimla. He said that Students interacted with famous scientists of the institutes and learnt about the recent developments in cutting edge areas of Sciences.
