Mahenderagarh : . : Dr. Sumit Kumar working as Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical SciencesCentral University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarhhas been awarded with Research Excellence Award-2022 by Institute of Scholars for his research work on Tuberculosis.On this achievement Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor ; Prof. (Dr.) NeelamSangwan, Dean, School of Interdisciplinary and Applied Sciences, and other faculty members congratulated the Dr. Sumit Kumar.

Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Head, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciencesgladly informed that Institute of Scholars is registered under Ministry of MSME & Corporate Affairs, Govt. of India. Dr. SumitKumar has increased the efficacy of conventional marketed first line anti-TB drug by preparing Novel drug delivery system (NDDS). Tuberculosis remains the World’s single leading cause of mortality from a contagious agent. According to World Health Organization (2021), nearly 4000 people lose their lives to TB and closer to 28,000 people fall ill with this preventable and curable disease per day globally. This type of research will definitely boost up the drug discovery process for the management of the Tuberculosis. Dr. Kumar assured that this Novel drug delivery system (NDDS) certainly help people in complete eradication of Tuberculosis from India and the target of TB free India will be achieved five years prior i.e 2025 to the TB free world. He added, target of TB free India will be easily achieved.Dr. Kumar also informed that for detailed study on TB research a project has been prepared and will be submitted soon to the government of India for financial assistance.
