New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education has issued clarification regarding misleading claims about QR Codes printed on the board's examination papers. This advisory was issued in response to cases of unrelated web results being displayed when users attempted to interpret or manually search QR-related strings online. These results have also been observed to include references to unknown individuals or entities.
The board states that such results are algorithm-driven search outputs that are entirely disconnected from the CBSE examination processes. Any allusions to unrelated figures or content are misleading.
The board reiterates that the QR codes, by their nature, are used for authentication, tracking, and maintaining examination integrity within internal systems. They are not to function as direct internet hyperlinks, but to show the intended text when scanned.
The CBSE has termed the unrelated web results as an act of propaganda against itself, designed to malign the reputation of the board by offering deliberate misinterpretations of its examination process.
Students, parents, educators, as well as media platforms have since been advised to refrain from disseminating unsubstantiated claims and speculations on this matter. They may verify any queries through the official and credible channels of the board.
