CBSE and IIT Bombay to Launch Nationwide Virtual Webinars on IT and STEM Education

Phased sessions from September 29 to December 8 to empower educators with digital tools and NEP 2020-aligned STEM models

New Delhi.; The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), in collaboration with Spoken Tutorial, IIT Bombay’s award-winning digital learning initiative, has announced a series of nationwide virtual webinars to promote IT and STEM education. The initiative is aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and CBSE’s Skill Education programs.

Spoken Tutorial, developed under the National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT), Ministry of Education, has already empowered millions with affordable and scalable IT and STEM training.

Key Objectives of the Webinars

The sessions aim to:

  • Introduce inquiry-based, problem-solving, and application-driven STEM models.
  • Showcase IT-enabled strategies using open-source software and digital resources.
  • Familiarize teachers with Continual Professional Development (CPD) frameworks.
  • Demonstrate integration of ICT tools, including Spoken Tutorial, into classroom teaching of Science, Mathematics, and IT.
  • Highlight minimal infrastructure requirements to enable participation of both urban and rural schools.

Target Participants and Schedule

  • The webinars are designed for Principals, Vice Principals, IT Coordinators, Science and Mathematics teachers of CBSE-affiliated schools.
  • Format: 90-minute interactive sessions with live demonstrations, implementation roadmaps, Q&A, and case studies.
  • Phased Rollout: The sessions will cover five states per phase, beginning September 29 and continuing until December 8, 2025.

CBSE’s Call to Schools

  • CBSE has urged all affiliated schools to actively take part in the initiative, which is expected to equip educators with tools and methodologies to deliver future-ready STEM education to students nationwide.
