Azim Premji beginning operations in Bhopal, inviting applications for public health Master’s program

Azim Premji University will begin operations in Bhopal sometime in 2023 and will be offering programs in public health, teacher education, and other domains linked to education and development.

 

Bhopal : Azim Premji University will begin operations in Bhopal sometime in 2023 and will be offering programs in public health, teacher education, and other domains linked to education and development. It is currently accepting applications for faculty positions in the Master’s in public health program.

This program will be rooted in the values of equity and social justice in the context of everyday life in India and will nurture the capabilities of students in order to understand and address public health concerns at community, systems, and policy levels through knowledge, skills, and perspectives. Students will become public health practitioners dedicated to the health and well-being of communities, and students from various disciplinary backgrounds will be admitted.

Applicants applying for faculty positions in this program must agree with the program’s objectives. The university is very interested in applicants who are committed to teaching, research, and practice in the areas of community health, civil society programs and interventions, health financing, and government programs and initiatives. Faculty members are required to design courses, mentor students, teach, research, engage with public health practice, public writing, and policy work.

To be eligible, candidates must have expertise and experience in various areas of public health, research or practice, be able to think critically and be reflective, have strong verbal and written communication skills, be able to collaborate with others, and be willing to engage with a diverse student body. Academics must have an advanced degree in a relevant field and experienced practitioners must have 10 or more years of field experience and a post-graduate (or equivalent) degree in a relevant field. Applicants who also have experience in ground-up policy development work are desired.
