Assam: The Assam School Education Department has introduced a significant curriculum change for middle school students. From now on, History and Geography will be mandatory subjects for students in Classes 6, 7, and 8.
This update is aimed at strengthening students’ understanding of social sciences and developing a broader perspective on the state, the country, and the world. The department has also provided revised textbooks and supporting teaching materials to ensure smooth implementation across government schools.
Teachers have been instructed to integrate these subjects into daily lessons and assessments. Students and parents are encouraged to check with their respective schools for detailed schedules and study resources.
