A German delegation visits JMI to the expansion of academic cooperation

:- The delegation was led by Minister Wolfgang Tiefense, Minister of Economy, Science and Digital Society, Thuringia, and Prof. Dr. Frank Setzer, President of University of Applied Sciences, Erfurt

 

New Delhi: An international delegation from the University of Applied Sciences, Erfurt, Germany called on Prof. Najma Akhtar, Vice Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) to explore academic and research cooperation between the two institutions. The delegation was led by Minister Wolfgang Tiefense, Minister of Economy, Science and Digital Society, Thuringia, and Prof. Dr. Frank Setzer, President of the University of Applied Sciences, Erfurt. 

The delegation had an extended interaction with the Vice Chancellor, Deans, Faculties of Study, and HoDs from Engineering & Technology, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, and Architecture. There was an open discussion for the expansion of partnership in new domains of learning that involve cutting-edge research and technological intervention.

Vice Chancellor, Prof. Akhtar underlined the importance of expanding and strengthening the partnership that has seen a productive association between the two institutions over two decades.

President Frank Setzer made an elaborate presentation of the opportunities that existed in respect of twin programmes and joint & dual degrees. Minister Wolfgang Tiefensee underlined the importance of bilateral engagement between India and Germany and stated that the academic and research cooperation between both institutions was one such successful model worthy of emulation from universities in the world. 

The programme concluded with the exchange of Mementos.
