JMI’s Jamia Senior Secondary School celebrates Annual Function

creative and speaking skills of the students are not only developed in the school, but that the students also get ample opportunities to develop all their skills here.

New Delhi :- Jamia Senior Secondary School (JSSS), Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) celebrated its Annual Function on 20th  February 2024. Prof. Eqbal Hussain, Offg. Vice Chancellor, JMI presided over the function. In his address to students he emphasized on the need to implement the ideas of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan who once wrote that when the country ignores the importance of education, the country becomes poor and ignorant. He also said that all the writing, creative and speaking skills of the students are not only developed in the school, but that the students also get ample opportunities to develop all their skills here.

The Chief Guest Dr. Hanif Qureshi, Aditional Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries, Government of India emphasized on the importance and usefulness of education to the students and said that students need to cultivate the habit of reading books. He said that book reading guarantees improvement in the personality of the reader and sets the goals of success.

 The Guest of Honor of the function, Dr. Khawaja Muhammad Rafi, Director, Mewat Engineering College emphasized on the importance of life and said that we do not need to be disappointed in any situation if even if your marks are low in the exam, one should constantly try to develop their academic abilities and competence so that one can lead the country on the path of further development. He further asked the students to not become a job seeker, he said one should keep trying to make oneself an employer.

The other Guest of Honor Ms. Ruchika Kem, Regional Director,  Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) encouraged students to live their school life to the fullest and maintain their interest in education and make further improvements in it. She encouraged them to do better and to seek better from the future. On this occasion, Nadeem Ahmed (Director, Shikhar Foundation) announced a scholarship of rupees ten thousand on behalf of his NGO for the first position holders in board exams.

Dr. Muhammad Arshad Khan, Principal, JSSS, while presenting the welcome speech, also presented the annual report on the school’s functioning. The school magazine “Umang 2024” and a book “Throughout the windows of the classroom”prepared by the students were also released. The program started with the traditional recitation of the Holy Quran by Razique Nafees, followed by the Jamia Tarana.

All the Guests were welcomed with Saplings being presented to them. A welcome dance was also performed. It was followed by Qawwali, Ghazals sarai, Folk Dance and presentations of different Rasaa such as anger, joy, sadness etc. Before the end of the programme, outstanding performers in different fields were honored with certificates and momentos such as academic and creative fields. The students who performed well in co-curricular activities such as Ghazal Sarai Competitions, Editing magazines, anchoring in functions, poetry recitation, Quiz Competition, Best Cadet Corps, Inter School Sports Competition, And those who had the highest attendance in the last session were honored with momentos and certificates. Prizes were awarded to the students who performed prominently in Ted Speaking Club.

A large number of students, Deans of Faculties, Heads of Departments, teachers, officers and non-teaching staff attended the highly successful annual function.   The program ended with a formal vote of thanks by Mr. Qutbuddin Ahmad, Vice Principal, JSSS.
