DUSU Elections 2025: ABVP and NSUI Announce Candidates as Campaign Season Heats Up

Presidential Race Between Aryan Maan (ABVP) and Joslyn Nandita Choudhary (NSUI); Elections Scheduled for September 18

New Delhi. : With Delhi University gearing up for its Students' Union elections on September 18, 2025, the two leading student outfits — Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and National Students' Union of India (NSUI) — have officially announced their candidate panels, setting the stage for a high-stakes political showdown on campus.

ABVP has nominated  Aryan Maan  for the post of president, with  Govind Tanvar contesting for vice president, Kunal Choudhary for secretary, and Deepika Jha for joint secretary. Seeking to capitalise on past victories, ABVP is also aiming for a revival after a recent dip in campus influence.

NSUI, the student wing of the Indian National Congress, has fielded Joslyn Nandita Choudhary as its presidential candidate. She is joined by Rahul Jhansla (vice president), Kabir (secretary), and Lavkush Bhadana (joint secretary). The party hopes to retain its stronghold over Delhi University amid growing student concerns.

The elections are expected to focus on key student issues such as hostel availability, library and classroom infrastructure, campus safety, and rising academic fees.

As campaigns intensify in the coming days with poster drives, student debates, and interactive sessions, the outcome will not only determine leadership within the university but also signal broader political sentiments among youth. DUSU elections have historically mirrored national political undercurrents, making the 2025 polls a keenly watched event across Delhi and beyond.
