Soch fest at PU: Second day starts with open-mic event

 Soch fest organised by the mass communication department of Panjab University on Friday commenced with an open-mic event where students presented their views on the theme, “Gehri soch, baat barabiri ki hai”. Everyone put their viewpoints across regarding gender equality and other issues faced by women.
Following this a variety of creative activities were organised that were inspired by the knowledge and qualities that a journalist must possess. “Spin a story” tested the creativity and storytelling skills of the participants who had to write a story based only on few pictures. The event was judged by Kamalpreet Kaur, Balpreet Kaur and Ravitaj. Arshdeep Kaur of GGDSD College came first.
Graffiti making was held outside the department and the walls were adorned with crafted graphics. The judges were Dr Jagtej Grewal, Tirthankar Bhattacharya and Sawan. Ishita Sarkar of PGGCG Sector 11 was the winner.
Ad-mad was another popular activity where the best sales pitch won the prize. It was organised in association with Zapbuild and Bigroxx. The judges were Sneh Popli, Preeti Gambhir and Narvijay Yadav. Doaba College team had the most convincing sales pitch.
The debate on citizen journalism as the new face of media in the next 10 years got many debaters. Lalan Bagel, Praveen Sharda and Deepti Gupta were the judges
