Goa schools told to display photos of President & PM
The Goa Education Department has been instructed by the state government to ensure that photographs of President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are displayed on the premises of educational institutes across the state. The decision was taken at a meeting of Heads of Departments chaired by CM Manohar Parikar earlier this week.
“We have 1,700 educational institutions, including primary and secondary schools. The photographs will be displayed at a suitable space in all the institutions,” said a senior official from the department. When asked if this is a norm, he said, “Children should know who their Prime Minister and President is.”
The last President whose photograph was displayed in Goa schools was Pratibha Patil. The HODs are expected to make the arrangements by the end of the month.
