Inter-School Literary and Cultural Fest 2019 'Gandhi-EkSoch' organized by ASN School

Inter-School Literary and Cultural Fest 2019 'Gandhi-EkSoch' organized on the occasion of the Mahatma Gandhi's 150th birth anniversary 

New Delhi, 6 October 2019: ASN  Senior Secondary School in collaboration with National Gandhi Museum,  Gandhi Smarak Nidhi and Gandhi Peace Foundation commemorated the 150th Birth Anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. On this occasion, an Inter School Literary and Cultural Fest 2019 'Gandhi-EkSoch' was organized. The main aim of this event was to sensitize the young learners of the efficacy of the lessons given by Gandhi Ji. 

The  event took an auspicious start with the lighting of the lamp by the Guests of Honor, Kumar Prashant, Chairman Gandhi Peace Foundation ;Sanjoy Singha, Secretary Gandhi Smarak Nidhi, Vina Handa, Chairperson 'Sannidhi' Satya Prakash Bharat; Rupal, Center Coordinator Gandhi Peace Foundation along with the School Principal; Swarnima  Luthra and the Members of the Management. 

Principal Swarnima  Luthra gave a hearty welcome to the guests, teachers and enthusiastic school students of more than 30 schools from Delhi and NCR. Schools from Alvar, Rajasthan and more than 100 online entries came from the various states of India to participate in this event. She said we must follow his ideals and work with truth and perseverance to achieve our goals as a nation and as individuals.

The School premises were buzzing with more than 25 competitive events comprising of cultural, literary, art and technical categories. The highlight of the day was the display of innovative working models at ATAL Lab based on the theme, 'Combat Pollution, the Only Solution '. The students also gave a sensitive yet hard hitting performance to highlight the relevance of Gandhiji 's teachings in today's fast paced world. The audience was kept spellbound by the mesmerizing performance of the students in the cultural event called 'Mahatma ki Mahima'. There were several other events like, 'Words of Wisdom ','Go through Gandhi, Grow through Gandhi ','Walk for a Cause ','Weave for a Better World 'and likewise. ASN along with other schools bagged various prizes but being the host school, the trophy was passed on to the school next in position.

Kumar Prashant lauded the efforts of the staff and the children. He said that Gandhiji 's ideals and teachings cannot be learnt in a day.  We have to make them a way of life to make this world peaceful, progressive and prosperous. He was impressed with the multifarious activities in which the students of various schools were engaged.

The program came to an end with a vote of thanks proposed by Middle Wing Coordinator, Sushma Kalia.
