On teacher's day occasion President presented the National Award to 46 teachers

New Delhi: Today on teacher's day occasion held at Vigyan Bhavan, the president of India, Ram Nath Kovind presented the National Award to 46 teachers who came from across the country. The Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, and the Minister of State for Human Resource Development, Sanjay Dhotre were also present on the occasion.

The purpose of National Awards to teachers was to honor those teachers who not only improve the quality of school education but also enrich their lives through their commitment and industry. To reach this level, all teachers faced the umpteen process.

This year, the online self-nomination process followed by 3 tier selection process at District, State and National level has been completed. The Independent National Jury selected those teachers who had added value to the school and to their students.

The President's words on the occasion put the light upon the importance of education and how teachers play a vital role in building up a student. The President said that strong foundations of character-building are laid in schools. Teachers make their students a good human being by instilling honesty, discipline and integrity in them. Therefore, for the sake to build their students in a good human being, teachers contribute to several national development processes.

The President also showed the concern in his talks about human civilization and said that we have to establish a balance between ‘artificial intelligence’ and ‘human compassion’ and between ‘digital learning’ and ‘character building’. Then only humans will get the solution to their problems and challenges such as climate change, pollution, melting glaciers, etc.

The President urged teachers to build a new generation that is full of knowledge and wisdom so that it can successfully address all the contemporary challenges.
