An Awe-Inspiring Show – ‘Yamuna Aadi se Anaadi Tak’

As the dusk settled, on the evening of 20th December 2017 the premises of the Yamuna Sports Complex became alive with the chirping of the birds. It was a grand celebration which saw little children shine on the stage. Primary Section of Ahlcon International School celebrated its magnificent and reverberating Annual Day on Wednesday, 20th December 2017 amidst great zest, vibrancy and elation at Yamuna Sports Complex. Mr Ravindra Yadav, Joint Commissioner of Police, Eastern Range, Delhi Police was the esteemed Chief Guest and Mr Ranjeet Singh, Additional District Magistrate (Central) in Delhi Government was the Guest of Honour. Among other dignitaries present were Chairperson Dr Rohini Ahluwalia, Mrs President Smt. Sudarshan Ahluwalia, School Principal Mr Ashok Kumar Pandey, Headmistress Ms Anju Gupta, Incharges and other distinguished guests.

Headmistress Ms Anju Gupta formally welcomed the eminent guests and gathering to the Cultural extravaganza. The programme commenced with Orchestra where students played a fusion of instruments with exuberance and unmatched zeal and rhythm The Instrumental extravaganza– ‘Melodious Symphony’, enthralled the audience with the soulful rendition of music .The scintillating ‘Welcome song.’ by the ebullient students’ was a soul stirring performance.

Everyone was visibly impressed by the impeccable performance showcased by the students across different grades. The theme for this annual show was ‘Yamuna –Aadi se Anaadi Tak’ a sincere endeavour to create awareness among people to save our lifelines-our rivers.” which was presented meticulously by students from grade 3 to grade 5. The audience was enthralled by a colourful and very well directed dance drama. The drama was embedded with heart wrenching acting and scintillating dance performances. The props and costumes added colour to the festive occasion with the synchronized dance movement to the foot tapping music.


The resounding applause from the spectators confirmed the proof of children’s talent. The programme was an amalgamation of various hues befitting the theme wondrously. The one–hour long Cultural Show held the audience in awe and left them enlightened as the show culminated.
The Chief Guest in his speech to the audience appreciated the choice of theme and its immense impact on the minds of people. He was astonished to observe young children narrating scripts with perfect articulation. He congratulated the school for taking such an edifying topic which requires a quick moral action on everybody’s part. He also highlighted the importance of self-defence techniques for girls in today’s world.

The Guest of Honour also appreciated the theme of the Annual day and school’s effort to spread the awareness. Chairperson was elated with the performance of kids and was full of praise for them. She congratulated principal, headmistress and teachers who coordinated the program painstakingly over the last couple of months and especially the children who worked relentlessly with full enthusiasm and enthralled the audience with their mesmerising performance. In her address she also suggested the parents to keep a watch on their kids as kids in today’s world are exposed to lot of media to which they have easy access.

Principal Mr. Ashok Pandey in his inspiring speech briefed the audience with the philosophy of the school, inculcation of life skills and value based education, global citizenship and plethora of activities conducted in the school The Annual Prize Distribution was a moment of pride and honour for all the winners and achievers as they were awarded and applauded for their scintillating performance in the field of sports. Prithvi House bagged the trophy for best house in co-curricular activities and was also a proud winner of overall trophy. The best house trophy in sports was awarded to Agni House

It was a moment of pride and joy as the esteemed guest released the school magazine. The school magazine highlights all the activities, events held in school. It is a treat to read the articles penned by young budding artists.

The culmination was marked by the Vote of Thanks to the prestigious guests and parents. In all, the programme was a mesmerizing ride in colourful costumes, adorned with spell bound performances, greeted by the loudest applauds. It was indeed a spectacular display of talent and fervour
