DU Students protest against attack on NoJobNoVote activist
New Delhi. DU Students protest against attack on NoJobNoVote activist. Protest Meeting by Delhi University students held in front of the Press Club, Delhi, in morning today. The protest was against brutal attack on national convener of NoJobNoVote campaign Mr Chandra Mishra in Mysore, Karnataka, by ruling party corporator and goons in the area of the chief minister.
Mr Mishra, also the architect of Zero Unemployment Model, was running the campaign in the constituency of the CM Mr Siddaramaiah since 4 January. He has earlier given a proposal to the State Government regarding creation of 10 lakh jobs per year through a programme called My Karnataka, My Future. After the protest students passed a resolution against brutal attack on the architect of Zero Unemployment Model.
In resolution studetnds said that the youth of India, do hereby strongly condemn the brutal attack on the architect of Zero Unemployment Model and national convener of #NoJobNoVote movement by a ruling party corporator on 11 January in the constituency of the chief minister at Mysore, Karnataka. This is not only an attack on Democracy, but also on the future of the youth and future of the nation, as because Mr Mishra is trying to turn Varuna to a Zero Unemployment Model. Voice is the foundation of democracy which can not be and should not be replaced by Violence.
They urge the chief minister of Karnataka Mr Siddaramaiah to take following steps immediately:
1. To arrest the goon corporater and expel him from the party to send a visible message that neither he, nor his party believes in violence.
2. To provide protection to Mr Mishra and his team to carry out his democratic campaign in the interest of the youth and ensure his safety.
3. To invite Mr Mishra for discussion on his proposal of Alternate Employment Policy submitted to the Karnataka Government in March 2017.
